In this paper, a multi-stage Z-source inverter with high boost factor is proposed. The proposed topology by using the combination of a power supply and Z-source networks are increased the voltage. Regarding voltage increase capability over the wide range, good resistance against electromagnetic noise and immunities against shoot through (ST), this inverter can be used widely in the photovoltaic systems, fuel cells, wind energy and UPS systems. The suitable PWM control method for the proposed inverter is presented. Theoretical analysis of proposed inverter in two-stage and N stage for ST mode and non-ST mode are presented too. The case study for power losses analyses and efficiency is presented and the advantages and disadvantages of the increasing the stages are shown too. Moreover, a comparison between the proposed topology with the conventional Z-source inverters is presented. In order to verify the performance of the proposed topology, the simulation results obtained from the PSCAD/EMTDC software are presented
