In this paper, a microstrip bandpass filter based on terminated three coupled lines and trapezoidal patches with good performance has been presented. Firstly, the analytical results of the proposed resonator based on the odd and even-mode analysis have been done. Then, the good performance for the filter using the proposed resonator and an open stub with proper dimension has been obtained. Meanwhile, the variation of the frequency response of the filter with different substrates and coupled lines has been investigated. One type of bandpass filter based on terminated coupled line structure is theoretically analyzed, simulated, and measured. The center frequency of 2.36 GHz, the fractional bandwidth (FBW) of about 60%, the low insertion loss of 0.25 dB, and the return loss better than 22 dB are obtained. Also, a flat group delay lower than 1.2 ns is achieved. Experimental and simulated results are in good agreement.
