Abstract:   (5292 Views)
Primary frequency control is the first control action for keeping grid frequency near nominal value, and is implemented by balancing active power generation and consumption. Dynamic characteristics and requirements of primary frequency control depend on the parameters such as system inertia, load damping, number of participating plants in frequency control and their spinning reserve. Awareness of the value of these parameters is essential for safe and efficient operation and control of the network. In this paper, values of these parameters in the interconnected grid of Iran are calculated through processing real data recorded by PMUs and other recorders during system events. In addition to the formulation and method of calculations, the obtained results can be useful for a variety of applications, particularly in primary and secondary frequency control and allocation of frequency control reserves.
