In this paper, a new step-upresonant DC-DC converter without an auxiliary switch is introduced. All the switching elements act under zero current switching condition at turn-on and turn-off instants. The proposed converter has a simple auxiliary circuit including an inductor and a capacitor. In addition, the size of the main inductor is considerably reduced because it acts as a resonant inductor. There is no extra voltage stress on the switch. Theoretical analysis of the proposed converter for Deep-DCM operation is presented and verified by simulation results. In addition, the efficiency of the proposed converter is presented and compared to its hard switching counterpart. Also, the conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) of the proposed converter is simulated and compared to another soft switching boost converter.
